Honey for aging skin?

If youre anything like me, youre skeptical. A lot of us feel this way about skin care claims because weve spent too much money on high-priced products that dont work.

Especially, we wonder about ingredients that sound like they come from old wives tales. Honey for aging skin sounds like one of those — or at least, it did when I first heard about it.

I did my research and checked out the claim thoroughly, and boy, did I get a surprise. It turns out that honey for aging skin can be very beneficial.

Now, no one is likely to slather moist, sticky honey on their skin very often, no matter how good a thing that might be. (Dont do it! Theres a better way!) So two points about honey for aging skin: It has to be the right kind of honey, and it needs to be carefully dried and powdered before it can be used in a great skin care product.

The type of honey for aging skin that really works is called Active Manuka Honey. Bees produce it from the pollen of the manuka bush, which grows wild in New Zealand. University studies in New Zealand have proven an amazing number of skin care benefits from Active Manuka Honey:

– It contains unique enzymes with scientifically-proven healing properties for the skin. It helps to restore and rejuvenate your skin, making it look younger and softer

– Many types of honey have healing enzymes that have proven beneficial for the skin since ancient times. But the scientists at New Zealands Waikato University found the presence of a specific antibacterial property in manuka honey, and called it the Unique Manuka Factor (UMF).

– The honey, when used topically, supports the skins own cell renewal process, and assists in the formation of stronger collagen, the protein in skin responsible for its elasticity.

– Active manuka honey has much higher levels of antioxidants than any other type of honey, destroying free radicals in the skin which are a major cause of aging.

– It stimulates the skins immune system.

– Its effective in healing skin blemishes, including acne and even more serious skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis.

An important fact to know: only certain types of manuka honey contain these special properties in large quantities. The Unique Manuka Factor is measured and given a UMF number. The higher the number, the greater the effectiveness.

My website has details on some products that contain the most effective honey for aging skin.
